As we welcome the blessed month of Ramadhan, increasing our ibadat , we pray for an end to the bloodshed, chaos, oppression, corruption and hardship that plague this Ummah.
Asalamu alaikum and Ramadhan Kareem to all our site visitors
Alhamdulillah! Alhamdulillah! Alhamdulillah! Once again Allah Ta’ala has blessed us with a chance to enjoy this most special of months.
Alhamdulillah! Alhamdulillah! Alhamdulillah! Allah has multiplied the rewards and chained the shayateen.
Alhamdulillah! Alhamdulillah! Alhamdulillah! He SWT has united us in fasting, and breaking our fast and standing in prayer.
There are so many blessings for this Ummah to be grateful for and we thank Him for these.
This year, like other years, we pray for an end to the bloodshed, chaos, oppression, corruption and hardship that plague this Ummah.
But this Ramadhan we have cause to give more thanks to Allah Ta’ala.
For He SWT has removed the fear from the hearts of the people – fear instilled by regimes that have plagued Muslim lands for decades.
Muslims have been rising up to oppose these regimes and calling for real change for 8 months. Real change has not occurred but there is no sign that the call has stopped.
The challenge for Muslims this Ramadhan as they meet and pray together is to have an alternative vision to the existing systems in the Muslim world that keep people in poverty and allowed the resources of the Muslim world to be exploited by colonial powers.
This alternative vision should not just be an alternative to oppressive dictatorship and corrupt democracy. It should be an alternative to the failing capitalist secular models in the west – where the banks went bust, politicians are corrupt and media makes money from gossip, slander and innuendo.
The alternative vision should be based on Islam. Allah SWT said
The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Qur’an, a guidance for mankind, and clear proofs of the guidance, and the Criterion (of right and wrong). And whosoever of you is present, let him fast the month, and whosoever of you is sick or on a journey, (let him fast the same) number of other days. Allah desireth for you ease; He desireth not hardship for you; and (He desireth) that ye should complete the period, and that ye should magnify Allah for having guided you, and that peradventure ye may be thankful. [Al-Baqra:185]
The Quran revealed in this month, and recited in this month was revealed to be implemented – a criterion and standard for people to live by – to lead mankind out of darkness into light.
So, as we stand in prayer and hear the sublime ayaat-kareem being recited we should reflect that the Muslim world needs the systems that emerged from this Book and work to convince people to focus their call on this Islamic alternative.
We pray Allah accepts all our siyaam, qiyaam, sadaqaat, du’a and good deeds in this month, and unites and elevates this Ummah under the shade of the Khilafah.
